Our kennel name has been selected in honor of our first Rhodesian bitch, Kuba Kili, who we lost in May 2008. Her legacy continues in our young dogs, is apparent in the November 2009 litter of two and promises to flourish in the litter of June 2010. Our tribute to her is on the next page.
We have been involved with Rhodesian Ridgebacks since we got our first, "Jake" in 1998. Later, his buddy "Kili", came to us also from Donna Edgar's Ruvanda line. After several years, we bred Kili with Ch Stardusts Parish The Thought ("Dave"). Those puppies, born in April 2002, are scattered around Texas. This litter produced several Field Champions and three with Best in Field wins. In 2004, we decided to breed Kili one more time. With some quick decisions and cooperation from Clayton Heathcock, we were able to arrange an AI with BIF MBIS MBISS DC Can Ch Camelot's Promise to Bakari SC HIC ("Ruger"), the #1 Ridgeback in the country in 2005 and 2006. The litter of 5 has produced three confirmation champions and one field champion. These dogs are in Texas, New Jersey and Montana. While we are only occassional breeders, we try to find a match which will produce healthy, happy puppies and which will improve the breed. Our next litter, born November 6, 2009; matched Suni with BISS Intl/Am/Can GCH Christofel O'Copprridge SC CGC HIC ATT ("Chris"). We had two beautiful light wheaten puppies (see below); one in Phoenix and one in Austin; both to be shown. Our last litter was a repeat breeding with live cover of Suni with Chris due to the quality of the 2009 litter. Whelped June 16, 2010; this group of eight puppies (6 boys and 2 girls) was also a very good result. We are happy with all of the families who have these puppies as in the past. This litter traveled a bit with two in Phoenix, one in New Jersey, one in New York and the others in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio). Four of the eight are in homes where they will be shown. Both sires and dams have all their health clearances which may be confirmed on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website. Contracts for puppies carry the best health guarantees we can offer.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." Emile Zola 1840-1902
Our first two Ridgebacks were Jake "Big Goofy" and Kili "Our Princess" who came a year later in 2000. Both are ASFA Field Champions. Kili had an AKC Best in Field, was an AKC Field Champion and had 4 points. Once you have two, what is four? So, we kept two of the Ruger litter of October 2004, Zuri and Sunshine ("Suni"). Zuri put together three majors, 14 points and a Group 2 placement in 2006 and his final point in January 2007. He got his AKC JC title in Hutto in February. Zuri won the Open stakes both days at the ASFA Regional in December. Suni has her ASFA field championship, and 16 points toward her AKC FC title; needing one major win. After one show in Bozemen, MT, in 2008 she picked up her second major and is a finished confirmation champion. Our newest addition is Kuba's Call of the Wild by CopperRidge ("Wylie") from the second Chris - Suni litter. We are excited about his prospects as a great companion, in the ring and on the course.
Suni's second litter by BISS Intl/Am/Can GCH Redawg Christofel O'Copprrdg SC CGC HIC ATT ("Chris") produced eight beautiful, healthy puppies. Named after small Texas towns to continue from her first litter, the puppies have litter names of Dumas, Cisco, Frisco, Lucas, Happy, Marfa, Pecos and Wylie. There are six boys and two girls. Of the boys, two are ridgeless but have nice color and looks. The puppies have very nice heads with no dermoids, kinked tails and only one minor overbite. The show potential puppies include Lucas, Marfa, Pecos and Wylie. We are excited about the prospects for all these puppies as loving companions, in the ring and on the course.
Suni's first litter by BISS Intl/Am/Can GCH Redawg Christofel O'Copprrdg SC CGC HIC ATT ("Chris") produced two beautiful, healthy puppies. Named after Texas towns, the male was named Hondo and the female named Murphy. Both have very nice ridges, crowns, necks and heads with no dermoids, or overbites. Murphy has gone to her forever home in Austin as Kuba's Murphy Mink of CopperRidge ("Murphy"). Hondo completed his road trip on January 19 and is called Kuba CopperRidge Cyrus the Great ("Cyrus") at his forever home in the Phoenix area. We are excited about the prospects for these two with their new families, in the ring and on the course.
Kili's second litter by BIF MBIS MBISS Am/Can Ch Camelot's Promise To Bakari SC ("Ruger") produced five healthy puppies, all with birth nicknames. These five, 14 months old in December 2005, are Traveler ("Fenway"), Dubya ("Zuri"), Skipper ("Chase"), Mushroom ("Bonnie"), and Sunshine ("Suni"). The Red Sox, down 0-3 to the Yankees, never lost another game in 2004 after Fenway was born; hence, Legend of Fenway. After a number of shows for experience in 2005, Zuri and Suni were shown extensively in 2006. Zuri won his first major, a 3-pointer in Bossier City in April (see photo at the end of the page), a 4-pointer in Perry, GA and another 3-pointer in Houston and is now finished. Zuri went on to an AOM in the TVRRCOT Specialty in 2007 and several BOB wins in Florida in 2008 and 2009. He also won two ASFA Open stakes at the Regional in November 2006. Suni won her first ASFA BOB in January 2006, two more in October and has 14 points toward her AKC FC. She has finished her AKC confirmation championship following a sucessful trip to Montana in September 2007. Chase was in New Mexico with his new buddy Harley but has moved to San Antonio. Bonnie has her first AKC lure coursing title (JC), has 3 points toward her AKC FC title and is ASFA certified. She has moved from California to Montana where she won back-to-back confirmation majors in 2006, 8 more points in the Spring 2009 and just finished her confirmation championship handled by her owner, Tinamaria van der Horst. Bonnie finished with a BOB in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in July 2009.
